*Shalom salaam everyone, May favourite thing is to firstly say Thank you so much for supporting independent music. [In•de•pen•dent: (adj.) Not having sold one\'s life, career, and creative works over to a corporation.] How\'s your life flowing? It\'s been a huge month in my world! Lots of changes and lots of new music too! I\'ve found it so inspiring seeing the swell of masses of people around the globe rising up peacefully through the Occupy (Wall Street) movement to challenge how the system supports the 1% richest elite via the corrupt banking corporate structure that rips all of us off has inspired me to be involved as a co-organiser of Occupy Byron Bay. More on that later… Have you been experiencing changes in your life? I find it amazing how some things, sometimes huge potentially stressful, painful things, can just wash over you, like water off a ducks back. You let it go, shake it off and get on with life, and yet other things, sometimes relatively small and seemingly insignificant, can knock you off your centre. You can\'t stop thinking about it, perhaps spending sleepless nights in worry, confusion and conflict. WTF right? Why is it that some things in life don\'t seem to touch you and others stop you in your tracks or temporarily knock you off your path? I believe there are many factors involved, but the most crucial factor that tends to dictate how we deal with the random bits in life is whether we have a daily practice of \'me\' time. Time just to be with yourself. Undisturbed. Away from the daily grind, survival and bills. Away from friends, colleagues, family and loved ones. Away from pursuit of career, fortune and success. Away from negative thoughts that loop in the mind. Special time just for you because you\'re special and deserve it. Maybe it\'s sitting on a nearby beach to watch the sunrise or sunset…? Maybe it\'s getting up 25 minutes earlier each morning to do some stretching and breathing (yoga, pilates, tai chi, martial arts etc)…? Maybe it\'s going for a morning bicycle ride or jog or swim…? Maybe it\'s doing morning ablutions where you wash your hands and face with water giving thanks…? Maybe it\'s doing morning meditation or prayer ritual…? Could there be a better way to start each day, than to do something to nurture yourself? Wouldn\'t you be a far happier person in general? And wouldn\'t that rub off on others? Most of us have been conditioned to just let life live us rather than us living our lives. We literally practice being busy, stressed and unhappy most of the time, and our society considers this \'normal\', necessary and, even more bizarre, sane. Weird, don\'t you think? When you set aside some time for yourself (yes, I wrote a song called \'Set Aside Some time\' on album \'Don\'t Just Do Something… Sit There!\' about this very topic) you are acknowledging that you have worth, that you are deserving of love, joy, peace and grace. This daily acknowledgement sets the foundation for all of those things to come easily to you in your life, especially at the most crucial times. Why? Because in order to experience feelings of joy, peace, love, compassion, generosity and grace we need to make space for those very things to exist. If there is no space for them how can they possibly exist within us in our busy lives? You become what you practice most. If you don\'t practice being kind, then doing kind things will not come naturally to you. If you do not practice being gracefully at peace, then being peaceful and graceful when you most need it will not come naturally to you. If you do not practice giving to yourself and others freely, then being generous will feel alien to you. If you do not practice unconditionally loving yourself and others, then being loved and loving others will not feel normal to you. If being kind, generous, unconditionally loving, peaceful and graceful feel abnormal or unnatural to you or just hard work, then a dysfunctional conditioning has set in, which is indicative of a society that values dysfunction over unity, immorality over morality, competition over cooperation, stress over joy, busy-ness over peacefulness, but the good news is that it can easily be transformed. It all starts with how you treat yourself. How can you truly love others, respect others, give compassion to others if you don\'t truly give those same things to yourself daily? When you lay these positive foundations for yourself in your life, then even when things are tough, you\'ll be far more patient, kind, compassionate, peaceful and loving. And the results are immediate! And the more you give yourself to yourself daily, the more these positive attributes will become abilities and they\'ll be your \'normal\' mode of being. Literally everyday you will be slightly better at dealing with life\'s blows. After a while you probably won\'t even see them as blows anymore, but rather, opportunities to practice your abilities and that makes your mind and heart to continue to grow. In this world where greed, injustice, pain, stress, dis-ease and conflict have become the \'norm\' within the status quo, we could easily perceive these positive characteristics of patience, generosity, compassion, grace, cooperation, health, joy and love as super-human abilities. I don\'t know about you, but I love the idea of being or becoming super with super abilities! And by being super, changing the status quo to make being \'super\' the \'norm\' instead. This is the true meaning behind Gandhi\'s words, \"Be the change you wish to see in the world.\" Start giving yourself some \'you\' time today and reap the rewards (and we all will reap the rewards)… R3VOLUTION Wow! What a wonderful thing to see hundreds of thousands of people around the globe uniting for positive change! Witnessing this r3VOLution sweep the planet has reaffirmed to me the power of the people. How is it that we continue to allow the 1% elite to own 99% of the world\'s wealth, when we, the 99% masses own only 1%? Why is it that we allow the banking corporate and governmental structures to take so much wealth, whilst hard working people lose their homes, African parents watch their children die of starvation, and species disappear off the face of the planet? How can we continue to pretend that it\'s ok to allow these corporations to continue to poison our water supplies, pollute the air we breath and destroy the land we grow food from all in the name of (short-term) profit? We can\'t. Simple. And we can make a difference. A big difference. These questions have led me to learning so much amazing information about how powerful we are when we exercise our rights using Common Law, Trust Law & Constitutional Law. Does the word \'law\' confuse you or freak you out? You shouldn\'t let it. The main \'law\' we all inherently know and can understand is simple. • Do not cause harm Do not cause any loss to another. There really are no other laws. This is the main principal of Trust Law which underpins our whole Law system. I am in the process of putting together a tour for 2012 where I will start with a multi-media presentation of your basic rights to help each one of you to become truly free beings. Why would you care about this knowledge? With this knowledge you can immediately and Lawfully stop paying any kind of bank debt including credit cards and even home and car loans, which are all unLawful and also unConstitutional. With this knowledge you can stop paying car registration fees and any traffic infringement, and any other unjust rules, which are all statutes (not laws) and completely unLawful. If you are interested in finding out more info before this tour occurs, then feel free to email me (just click reply in this newsletter). There is an old Chinese proverb: May you live in exciting times. These are exciting times we are living in. Big changes are afoot. We can continue to generally be apathetic or complain about the system without backing the complaint with any real action and thereby just allow the immoral and incompetent governmental and banking corporate structures to destroy our planet while we numbly watch. Or we can unite together in our local communities and participate in these changes to make our world a better place where we humans become more harmonious, non-destructive, non-competitive, compassionate, cooperative caretakers and custodians of our precious planet. Hopefully hear from or see you soon. Until then, keep life, fresh, alive & beautiful! May you always speak your truth, walk your talk & live your dreams…(And if you can’t, then be easy on yourself. Take one step at a time.) So deep peace & blessings to you all, enjoy the rest of the newsletter. musically yours, In Lak’ech (Mayan: I am another yourself), Nathan Shalom (Hebrew: Peace) Salaam (Arabic: Peace)
